A Week of Visibility, Gratitude, and Unity

Communities across Florida’s west-central region will come together in a powerful show of remembrance and appreciation during National Police Week. Led by the FBI Tampa Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBITCAAA), this campaign transforms neighborhoods and landmarks into a visible tribute.

At its core, "Paint the Town Blue" is about recognition:

  • Honoring officers who serve daily with courage and commitment.
  • Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
  • Building lasting trust between law enforcement and the public.

Lighting the Region

Iconic landmarks and civic spaces across the region will shine blue as symbols of solidarity, including:

  • Curtis Hixon Park & Tampa Riverwalk
  • Old City Hall & City Center at Hanna
  • Sulphur Springs Water Tower
  • Main Street Bridge in New Port Richey
  • The regional beacon of the Skyway Bridge glowing blue, visible for miles

How to Participate

Participation is intentionally simple—collective impact starts with individual action.

  • Light It Blue: Add blue lighting to your home, business, or office. Encourage others to wear blue.
  • Lend a Light: Pick up a limited blue lightbulb to help start a ripple effect in your neighborhood.
  • Show Support: Display a limited-edition "Paint the Town Blue" yard sign to visibly stand with law enforcement.

The FBI Tampa Citizens Academy Alumni Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization separate and apart from FBI.
