The Board of Directors of the FBI Tampa Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBITCAAA) recognizes the significant and unique challenges that arise when a law enforcement officer makes the ultimate sacrifice while on duty, as well as the profound impact this has on the entire law enforcement community. In response, the Board has established the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), which operates within the FBI Tampa Division’s 18-county region.

The CIRT’s primary mission is to honor Law Enforcement Officers who have fallen in the line of duty. It provides assistance to the officer’s agency, colleagues, and loved ones during their time of grief by offering emotional support, financial aid, and practical help with funeral arrangements and other logistics. Additionally, the CIRT stands ready to support communities during critical incidents.

The effectiveness of the CIRT is rooted in its dedication and the generosity of the community. By maintaining a constant state of readiness, the CIRT ensures prompt and efficient responses to emergent situations, delivering exceptional care and financial assistance to those in need.
