Tampa FBITCAAA Board Supports National Police Week at Mission BBQ

13 May 2026 5:00 PM | Daniel Sallade (Administrator)

TAMPA, FL — Members of the FBI Tampa Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBITCAAA) joined Tampa City Councilman Luis Viera, community leaders, and local law enforcement representatives at Mission BBQ in New Tampa to show support for law enforcement during National Police Week.

The event brought together residents, public safety professionals, and community advocates in a shared effort to recognize the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers. As part of the gathering, attendees were encouraged to participate in the nationwide “Paint the Town Blue” initiative, which aims to demonstrate visible community support for law enforcement agencies and officers.

A highlight of the event was the distribution of blue light bulbs, provided to community members to display at their homes and businesses throughout National Police Week. The blue lights serve as a symbol of appreciation and solidarity with law enforcement personnel who work daily to protect and serve their communities.

Councilman Luis Viera, along with fellow community leaders and law enforcement representatives, emphasized the importance of strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The event fostered meaningful conversations and reinforced the value of collaboration, mutual respect, and civic engagement.

Community Impact

The FBITCAAA remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote public safety awareness and positive community-law enforcement partnerships. By participating in events such as this, the organization helps create opportunities for residents to engage directly with law enforcement professionals and learn more about the challenges and responsibilities associated with keeping communities safe.

Looking Ahead

As National Police Week continues, community members are encouraged to participate in the Paint the Town Blue initiative and other events honoring law enforcement officers. These efforts help recognize the dedication, courage, and service of those who protect our neighborhoods while fostering stronger connections between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.

The FBITCAAA is proud to stand alongside local leaders, law enforcement partners, and community members in supporting programs that strengthen public trust, promote public safety, and honor the service of law enforcement professionals throughout the Tampa Bay area.
