FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award Presented to Jacques Hakim

The FBI Tampa Field Office is proud to announce Jacques Hakim, a civic leader dedicated to ensuring the safety and welfare of his community, as the recipient of the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award (DCLA) for 2021. Mr. Hakim is a Pasco County businessman, philanthropist, and educator who spearheads countless initiatives to assist the disadvantaged with hope and support.

“The FBI is proud to present Jacques Hakim with this award. Jacques is an engaged partner in the community and has made a significant and notable impact on Pasco County and beyond. His dedication and commitment are especially seen through the many programs he has created,” said Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Tampa Division, David Walker.

Mr. Hakim is a 2019 graduate of the FBI Tampa Citizens Academy. He continues to build on his relationship with the FBI by joining the Citizens Academy Alumni Association board of directors and creating community outreach events to help educate the public about the FBI and its mission to protect the American people.

The FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award was formally created in 1990 to honor individuals and organizations for their extraordinary contributions to the prevention of crime and violence in the community. Each year, FBI field offices nominate individuals or organizations that have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their communities through service.

The FBI Tampa Division and the FBI Tampa Citizens Academy Alumni Association joined forces with local sponsors and community leaders on December 1, 2022 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa to raise over 2,000 toys at their 8th Annual Jingle and Mingle Event.  The delivery took place on Wednesday December 7, 2022 in Pasco County, FL where the Marines Toys for Tots arrived with a 28 foot truck to pick up the pallets of toys.

In addition to this donation, the FBI Tampa and FBI Tampa Citizens Academy teamed up with 13 local children and families at Ollie’s Bargain Store for a shopping spree on December 13, 2022 where the children handpicked the toys they wanted other children to receive.  The total shopping spree delivered 355 Toys valued at $2,500.00.   Thank you, Stephen Rossiter, Betsy Moriarty, Jacques Hakim, Jeff Iseler, Marci Wilhelm, Johanna Gatzoulis, Eric Caisse, Sam Alagha, Rick Hagan, NY Yankees Foundation and Joseph Rooth, for your generous donations and for your continued support to our mission.
