Federal Teens Academy

The first ever Federal Teen Academy was a success, with over 86 graduates from over the 18 counties that the FBI Tampa Field Office serves and even some teens from out of state. The teens in attendance got to learn all about what each agency does and how they do it. It was the first time that the FBI opened their doors to have a joint community outreach event with the United State Attorney Office – Middle District of Florida (USAO), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association.

On the second day the teens got a special treat and got to go behind the scenes to see how tv is made with Tampa Bay’s very own Charley Belcher. He did live spots from 6:30 am until 9:30 am all about Federal Teen Academy and the importance of kids learning about the Federal Agencies and how they work together to keep the citizens of Tampa Bay safe. Please take a moment and check out our very own Community Outreach Specialist Betsy Moriarty making her tv debut https://www.fox13news.com/video/1101247.
